Welcome to Royal Liberty Morris!
Royal Liberty are a traditional English morris dance side from Hornchurch, Essex. We dance Cotswold, Border and Molly Sword dances and have been in continuous operation since 1969. We practice throughout the year at Fairkytes Arts Centre from 7pm - 10pm every Thursday and always welcome visitors, new dancers, musicians and groupies.
Heroes Helped For St George!
Saturday, 23rd April saw Royal Lib make their debut appearance of 2011 at the St Georges Day "Help For Heroes" fundraiser organised by our own hero Carol Vine. Much needed funds were raised on the night to support our troops with the entertainment being split between a disco and Royal Liberty.
Head Musician Terry Wyatt's melodeon was the 1st casualty of the season losing an all important "G" melody button shortly before we danced our 1st set - which had the unexpected consequence of the musicians present having to transpose the tunes to "D" on the fly... interesting to say the least :D
A temporary repair was put in place before we danced again later in the evening - nice one Terence.

It doesn't hurt to ask so please do contact Terry if you would like us at the olympics... sorry... at your event in 2011... or at the olympics in 2012...
